CAREER NOTES
Impa "Tshilobo" Kasanganay is the 2023 PFL Light Heavyweight Tournament Champion and one of the most decorated contenders on the PFL. The Charlotte, North Carolina product trains at Kill Cliff FC, fighting under the banner of his Congolese roots and his Tshilobo nickname, which carries his family's heritage from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kasanganay arrived in mixed martial arts from a football background, playing collegiately at Stephen F. Austin State University before turning to combat sports in his early twenties. He turned professional in 2017 and built his name on the regional scene before signing with the UFC, where he made his promotional debut in 2020 and competed across the welterweight division. Kasanganay joined the PFL in 2023 after earning a contract in the PFL Challenger Series after a round one knockout.
Kasanganay made his PFL mark immediately, winning the 2023 Light Heavyweight Season with a stoppage over Marthin Hamlet in the semifinal and a unanimous decision win over Josh Silveira in the championship final. After the 2023 season, Kasanganay moved down to Middleweight and stepped into one of the most anticipated fights, challenging Bellator champion Johnny Eblen at the PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions event in February 2024. Kasanganay then moved back up to Light Heavyweight where he made it to the finals in 2024, in 2025 Kasanganay moved down to his natural weight class and he now finds himself at the top of the Middleweight division.
Kasanganay fights with the finishing power of a light heavyweight in a middleweight's frame, mixing aggressive striking, combination work, and the kind of one-shot knockout power that has made Kasanganay a standout in the PFL. His career resume includes notable wins on both the UFC scene and the PFL, with the path through Hamlet and Silveira to claim the 2023 Light Heavyweight Championship. Kasanganay started 2026 with a bang by knocking out Dalton Rosta in the PFL Pittsburgh co main event in March, finishing Rosta in the opening round. The Kill Cliff FC product brings championship credentials and knockout power every time he steps into the cage.
