It’s main event time already and just like the previous six, this card has flown by and featured some fantastic fights.  Capping off the action, Impa Kasanganay moves up to 205lbs to take on Osama Elsaidy for a PFL contract.  The American Dream personified, Impa is the son of Congolese immigrants and was questionably released by the UFC after a 2-2 run with the promotion. Having only taken up MMA at 24, we have yet to see Impa’s ceiling as he competes to take home a PFL contract.  Impa is also a close friend and training partner of 2022 PFL Welterweight Finalist Dilano Taylor. Elsaidy meanwhile will be the second fighter to represent Egypt in the SmartCage and brings multiple BJJ and Middle Eastern regional championships into his PFL debut.

Round 1

Our main event is underway as booth fighters look to take the center of the SmartCage as Elsaidy overextends and Impa catches him with a nice check left hook for his troubles.  Elsaidy shoots in on a single and eats a bomb of a right hand but Elsaidy stays with it and secures the takedown but only briefly as Impa pops back to his feet only to be taken down again.

Elsaidy lands two nice right hands before Impa is able to get back to his feet again and get to the fence.  Impa begins to attempt a Kimura but Elsaidy is able to defend and now Impa lands a heavy one-two, perhaps staggering Elsaidy as he drops to his knees looking for a takedown but can’t get anything going.

Impa uses a front kick to prevent Elsaidy from getting inside and Impa definitely appears to have the advantage on the feet as he’s starting to find the range.  Elsaidy panic shoots again and again, Impa sprawls and is able to take the back of Elsaidy who appears to be starting to run out of gas.

OHH! Elsaidy gets back to his feet and Impa absolutely NUKES him with a two-three-two hook combination that faceplants the Egyptian as Dilano Taylor cheers on his triumphant friend and training partner.
