A wrestling specialist, Husein Kadimagomaev went 12-0 as an amateur fighter, which included winning a Shooto European amateur tournament championship. Turning pro in 2018, Kadimagomaev has impressed on the regional scene, winning 11 of 12 fights thus far, which includes 10 finishes. Kadimagomaev has won three straight entering tonight, most recently submitting Giorgi Aptsiauri in March.

 

Though Zafar Mohsen has strong striking abilities, his focus and background is primarily as a judoka. Mohsen, from Germany, has won 13 of 17 fights and has captured regional featherweight gold in the process. Mohsen most recently fought in February, scoring a first-round submission of Bektur Syitali Uulu.

Round 1

 

Mohsen with a low kick. Another low kick from Mohsen. Kadimagomaev staying back and staying patient. Low kick from Mohsen, but Kadimagomaev with a right hand – as both men try to time the other. Kadimagomaev circling around the outside. Strong overhand by Kadimagomaev. Kadimagomaev shoots in and scores a takedown after snatching a leg. Kadimagomaev now in side control, while Mohsen looks for an underhook to get back into the fight. Kadimagomaev drives Mohsen into the fence. Mohsen gets back to his feet against the fence before muscling his way out of Kadimagomaev’s grasp.

 

Kadimagomaev grabs at the leg again and gets Mohsen against the fence again. Step across and a toss from Mohsen, but Kadimagomaev gets his feet under him quickly. Mohsen looks to be threatening the neck as the two are standing against the fence. Mohsen steps across again. Kadimagomaev gets back to his feet and presses Mohsen once more. Mohsen with a few small knees to Kadimagomaev’s legs before the two separate. Left hand from Kadimagomaev. Kick from Mohsen. Mohsen with a low kick. Mohsen makes Kadimagomaev eat a few right hands, catching him coming inside. High kick from Mohsen, followed by a front kick to the body. Low kick from Mohsen. Round 2

 

Low kick from both men to start things off. Kadimagomaev is the one moving forward. Mohsen with a high kick. Round kick to the body by Kadimagomaev. Mohsen with a kick of his own. Low kicks and a quick right hand from Mohsen. Left hand from Kadimagomaev. He shoots in for a takedown, but he nearly eats a knee. Mohsen works over Kadimagomaev, who is desperately holding onto that leg. Mohsen and Kadimagomaev work their way over to the fence, with Kadimagomaev sen being the one pressing the action.

 

Kadimagomaev grabs a hold of that left leg, but Mohsen defends well against his takedown efforts once more. Mohsen with another judo throw, settling into a top position. Mohsen starts to work over Kadimagomaev with ground-and-pound. Mohsen, however, appeared to be bloodied up around one of his eyebrows by a sneaky elbow. Kadimagomaev gets back to his feet. The two finish the round against the fence.

 

 

Round 3

 

Kadimagomaev with an uppercut that misses. Mohsen throws a right hand and compromises Kadimagomaev’s balance with a push kick. Kadimagomaev shoots in for a takedown, but Mohsen stops it again easily. Kadimagomaev continues to try and pressure, but Mohsen keeps balance and lands punches to the sides of Kadimagomaev. Kadimagomaev tries an inside, and then an outside, takedown attempt with Mohsen against the fence – but nothing is working.

 

The two battle along the fence in a clinch, with neither throwing much but small punches. The pair are warned for more action, and the two are separated with about two minutes left in the fight. Mohsen with another push kick. Another kick to the body by Mohsen. Another kick from Mohsen, who is now attacking the legs. Low kick to a one-two by Mohsen. Kadimagomaev level changes, but Mohsen sprawls to easily stop things. Kadimagomaev looks drained. Mohsen manages to get into mount, and then half-guard, with about a minute left. Mohsen lands a few left hands, and Kadimagomaev leaves himself open to be mounted. Mohsen, however, opts for short elbows. One small flurry from Mohsen on top until the final bell.
