Sabrinna De Sousa Scores Split Decision In Battle Of Unbeatens

Paulina Wisniewska is one of the top female prospects from Poland, known for sharp striking, high-volume output, and composure under pressure. Wisniewska ran through Dee Begley, Karolina Wojcik, and Valentina Scatizzi last year to claim the 2024 PFL Europe Women’s Flyweight Title. In July, she followed that up with a first-round submission of Jessica Cunha.

Sabrinna De Sousa is a former three-time IMMAF world champion, going 15-0 as an amateur. She enters tonight 4-0 as a pro, including a regional flyweight title to her name. De Sousa made her PFL debut in August, scoring a decision over Saray Orozco.

Round 1

Round 2

Wisniewska looks to take the center early. Low kick by De Sousa. Wisniewska comes forward. After body shots from both women, Wisniewska presses De Sousa into the SmartCage. Both land inside shots, as Wisniewska appears to be looking for a trip. Elbow by Wisniewska. De Sousa turns it around with her arms around Wisniewska’s neck, bringing the fight to the mat. De Sousa might have the choke tight in here. Wisniewska has her guard up and is trying to land hammerfists from the bottom. Wisniewska works her way out of it. Wisniewska with a pair of upkicks, but the referee calls time. He claims De Sousa was a downed fighter on her knees, which would be an illegal shot.

The referee gives a hard warning for the foul. The fight resumes back in the same position. Right hand from up top by De Sousa. Short elbows on the inside by De Sousa. Upkick by Wisniewska. Wisniewska uses her legs, potentially looking for a triangle setup. De Sousa tries to circle around, and she gets onto the back of trying-to-stand Wisniewska. Wisniewska scrambles and gets on top. Now in another clinch battle. A knee by Wisniewska. Potential kneebar by De Sousa, but Wisniewska scrambles to get on top in guard again. Wisniewska with a pair of right hands. De Sousa gets back on top and looks for a limb, but Wisniewska scrambles back to her feet. Back up against the fence, and De Sousa scores a takedown. Wisniewska looks for an armbar, but De Sousa easily gets out of it. Wisniewska scrambles while giving up her back. She’s back to her feet, but De Sousa is still on her. De Sousa gets underhooks on Wisniewska again. The referee separates the two with a minute left. Wisniewska coming forward. De Sousa presses now, but Wisniewska gets a hold of her and brings her back down. De Sousa gets to her feet, but she is rammed into the fence by a pressuring Wisniewska, who adds in a right hand. A clinch battle closes the fight, with Wisniewska separating and landing a pair of shots.
