PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS LEAGUE APPOINTS SUZY BERKOWITZ AS FIRST-EVER CHIEF COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

NEW YORK, NY – [July 6, 2026] – The Professional Fighters League (PFL) today announced the appointment of veteran communications executive Suzy Berkowitz as its first-ever Chief Communications Officer. In this role, Berkowitz will lead the company's global communications strategy as PFL continues to accelerate its growth and expand its position as one of the world's leading sports and entertainment organizations. She will report directly to PFL’s Chief Executive Officer, John Martin.

Berkowitz joins PFL with more than two decades of experience building and elevating some of the world's most recognized media, entertainment, technology, and consumer brands. Throughout her career, she has helped organizations navigate periods of rapid growth, transformation and industry disruption, leading strategic communications and integrated marketing initiatives that have transformed businesses into category leaders through compelling storytelling, executive positioning, brand strategy and creative partnerships.

"PFL isn't simply growing. It's redefining what the next generation of sports organizations can become," said John Martin, CEO. "We're building a global brand at the intersection of sports, media, and entertainment and communications is essential to that evolution. Suzy has spent her career helping iconic brands across all of those industries navigate moments of transformation and build cultural relevance. She brings exactly the kind of strategic leadership and powerful storytelling we need as we enter our next phase of growth."

The creation of the Chief Communications Officer role underscores PFL's continued investment in its executive leadership team and long-term growth strategy. Berkowitz will lead PFL’s worldwide communications strategy, partnering across the business to drive corporate communications, executive positioning, media relations, reputation management and integrated campaigns that strengthen the brand, deepen fan engagement and expand global reach.

"Throughout my career, I've been drawn to organizations with bold leadership, passionate fan communities, and the opportunity to shape what's next. That's exactly what I found in John, the leadership team and PFL,” said Berkowitz“Behind every great athlete is a story of resilience, sacrifice and determination. Those stories have the power to inspire people who may never step inside a cage. I look forward to helping shine an even brighter spotlight on the extraordinary athletes of PFL, creating the next generation of global sports stars."

Previously, Berkowitz has held executive leadership roles at Refinery29, SundanceTV, Known, Entertainment Weekly and Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, where she developed award-winning communications campaigns. She also ran her own consultancy and got her start working with A-list talent at PMK Public Relations.

Today, more than 625 million people around the world follow MMA, making it one of the fastest-growing sports and home to one of the youngest, most engaged fan communities anywhere. As PFL continues its global expansion, investment in athlete development and strategic partnerships, the company remains focused on shaping the future of combat sports and redefining what's possible for the next generation of sports fans.
