NEW YORK (August 20, 2020) – The Professional Fighters League (PFL), the first organization ever to present MMA through a Regular Season, Playoff and Championship format, today unveiled its latest PFL Studios digital production, “Prep Point.” The 1v1 interview-style series will introduce PFL’s newest contenders for the 2021 season, which will feature an elevated roster of fighters with championship pedigrees and big fight experience challenging for the million-dollar belt. Prep Point debuts today at 10:00am ET on the league’s OTT platform, PFL MMA, and will continue weekly.
Hosted by PFL cage announcer and WWE legend, Lilian Garcia, Prep Point will provide fans with unique insight into each fighter's journey to the PFL, how they’re preparing for the 2021 season, and what can be expected from them inside the PFL cage. The debut episode features Jordan Young, who joins the PFL following a 6-1 run at Bellator. Prior to his first career loss (11-1), Young reeled off five-straight submission victories.
“The 2021 PFL season will be our biggest yet. Through Prep Point, we’re excited to showcase some of our new, next-level PFL talent looking to earn their way through the toughest test in MMA for a shot at a million-dollar title,” said Peter Murray, CEO of the Professional Fighters League. “PFL Studios will share their incredible stories of perseverance, grit and determination, providing invaluable context for fight fans seeking more access to fighters ahead of the 2021 season.”
The second episode of Prep Point will feature PFL light heavyweight Chris Camozzi, whose career path included three separate stints with the UFC. Future episodes will highlight “Canadian Gangster” Olivier Aubin-Mercier, who joins PFL following a 7-5 run with the UFC, Mohammed Usman, the brother of UFC champion Kamaru Usman, and more.
The debut of Prep Point comes on the heels of a successful launch of Red King Rundown, a six-part series providing fans with a unique, behind-the-scenes look into the life and career of MMA star and fellow PFL newcomer Rory MacDonald.
PFL Studios is a fully integrated global media division of the Professional Fighters League producing original MMA content for all platforms including television, digital and mobile. All long-form PFL Studios content is led by 16-Time Emmy Award winning producer and director George Greenberg, while PFL Chief Digital Officer Daniel Ghosh-Roy will produce short-form content across digital platforms.
