After a strong run on the amateur circuit, which included amateur MMA titles, Mathys Duragrin made his professional MMA debut at the start of this year, and he’s gone 3-0 to start. Duragrin has a combined 10-fight win streak, with two of his three pro victories coming via a finish. Duragin was most recently in action just two months ago, defeating Ole Hetleflat.

 

After a rough start to his career, Yassin Chtatou has rebounded with three wins in his last four fights. All four of his pro victories have come via a finish, with three coming in the first round. Chtatou saw a three-fight win streak snapped at his PFL Europe debut in September, being submitted by Mark Ewen.

Round 1

 

Chtatou with a low kick. Wild one-two from Chtatou, but Duragrin gets around it and takes Chtatou down. Chtatou gets to his feet, but Duragrin gets a hold of his back. Duragrin with a knee. Duragrin scores another takedown and ends up in side control. Chtatou tries to use his legs and the fence to pressure out. Duragrin trying to load up for ground-and-pound but he’s tangled up. Duragrin looks for an arm-triangle but he lets it go. Chtatou works his way back to the feet, but Duragrin lands a knee. Chtatou tries for a takedown, but Duragrin has an arm around his neck. Round 2

 

A clinch right away, and Chtatou is the one who brings Duragrin to the fence. Duragrin lands a few right hands. Duragrin looks to escape but ends up giving up his back. Chtatou gets the takedown, but Duragrin is able to work his way around and end up on top. Duragrin landing knees to the leg of Chtatou. More knees to the legs.

Low kicks from both men. Duragrin misses two spinning wheel kick attempts. Side kick from Duragrin. Duragrin shoots in and slams Chtatou to the mat. Duragrin works his way to the back and could be looking for a rear-naked choke. Chtatou tucks his neck but is eating punches to the arms. Duragrin tries to flatten out Chtatou. He cannot do it, but he’s still trying to snake an arm under Chtatou’s chin.

 

Duragrin lands hammerfists to the body to try to soften Chtatou’s defenses. Duragrin continues to wrestle and strike to the body, trying to lock in the choke. Duragrin landing several right hands with a body lock in full. Duragrin threatens but doesn’t have it locked in. Duragrin transitions into top position, nearing mount. Short shots from the mount by Duragrin. Duragrin postures up and lands a flurry of punches. Duragrin walks away and calls for Chtatou to meet him in the center for the last 10 seconds. They trade but no knockout happens.
