Vinny Magalhaes continues to be a wrecking ball in the PFL cage.
The 34-year-old jiu-jitsu black belt kept his streak of first-round stoppages alive with a nasty submission over Rakim Cleveland on Saturday night at PFL 9. Magalhaes needed just 80 seconds to wrap Cleveland up with a flying triangle, then seal the deal with a slick transition to a kimura. Magalhaes has won all three of his PFL appearances with first-round stoppages.
With the victory over Cleveland, Magalhaes (17-9, 1 NC) advanced to the PFL light heavyweight semifinals, where he’ll take on Bozigit Ataev later Saturday night for a chance to advance into the promotion’s million-dollar light heavyweight finale.
