Radu Maxim won nine of his first 10 fights and holds several first-round finishes while competing throughout Italy, including a victory in Bellator in 2018. A wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist, Maxim earned this opportunity through a first-round TKO of Vojto Barborik in a PFL Europe Qualifier during the 2022 PFL Playoffs.

Undefeated through his first eight professional fights while competing in Combat Night Pro in Florida, Jakub Kaszuba started training in Taekwondo as a young boy in Poland before switching to boxing, kickboxing, and wrestling when he moved to the U.S. A former Golden Gloves titleist who has four finishes so far in professional MMA, Kaszuba last fought in November, scoring a second-round TKO of Nicolas Cocuccio.

The winner of this lightweight bout will earn a spot in the PFL Europe Playoffs and will take on Connor Hughes vs. Dylan Tuke.

Round 1

Kaszuba lands a takedown right away, but Maxim is able to get back to his feet very quickly. Still pinned against the PFL SmartCage, Maxim is able to score a huge judo throw and pressures Kaszuba, who tries to scramble out before the two battle in the clinch. Kaszuba lands several body shots with Maxim pinned to the fence. The fight goes back to the ground, with Kaszuba pinning Maxim and landing from up top. Maxim, however, has Kaszuba close to him to try and limit Kaszuba’s power.

Kaszuba, however, is able to transition into mount and flattens Maxim out. Kaszuba starts to land ground-and-pound before looking for the rear-naked choke. And he locks it in and gets the tap!

Jakub Kaszuba is on his way to Paris!
