The welterweight main event puts undefeated Belgian prospect Patrick "The Belgian Bomber" Habirora across the cage from former UFC and WEC lightweight champion Benson "Smooth" Henderson, who returns to MMA for the first time since 2023. Habirora is one of Europe's hottest welterweight prospects, carrying a finishing streak that includes a first round head kick KO of Danny Roberts inside ING Arena last July and a first round stoppage of Kevin Jousset at PFL Lyon in December. Henderson brings nearly two decades of championship experience and career victories over Nate Diaz, Frankie Edgar, and Jorge Masvidal. Hometown noise meets championship pedigree on a night Brussels has been waiting for.
The bantamweight co main pits Taylor "Double Impact" Lapilus against Jake "White Kong" Hadley in a contender's eliminator. Lapilus arrives on a five fight win streak, including a ground and pound TKO of Kasum Kasumov at PFL Dubai in February and a public call for a PFL title shot. Hadley, the former Cage Warriors flyweight champion famous for his Scottish Twister submission at PFL World Tournament 2, lands in Brussels with the title picture inside fifteen minutes of striking distance.
The card also features hometown Belgian standout Boris "Modern Gladiator" Atangana taking on Jared Gooden in a middleweight bout, kickboxing veteran "Stitch 'em Up" Joe Schilling making his MMA return against Donegi Abena at light heavyweight, and 2025 PFL World Tournament winner Marcirley Alves facing former RIZIN bantamweight champion Naoki Inoue.
PFL Brussels takes place Saturday, May 23 at ING Arena in Brussels, Belgium. The early card airs at 12:30PM ET with the main card begining at 3:00PM ET on ESPN. Two generations of welterweight talent in the same cage, a bantamweight title pitch on the line, and a Belgian crowd ready to make ING Arena the loudest room in MMA.
