Another continental PFL Europe Light Heavyweight contest on the card as France’s Anthony Salamone takes on his Spanish counterpart Daniel Ladero. Salamone lost his PFL debut in 2022, but is a two-time French Greco-Roman wrestling champion, and four of his seven professional MMA wins are by finish. Ladero is a BJJ black belt with an obviously formidable ground attack. All three of his professional wins are by submission.

Round 1

As the Light Heavyweight division entails, these are two big fighters with big strikes, who start out this fight feeling each other out with strikes that could knock lesser fighters to the canvas. Early leg strikes from Daniel Ladero have compromised Anthony Salamone’s lead leg.

Ladero looks for the level change, as his three career wins have all come via submission. Salamone lands an uppercut that stuns the Spaniard Ladero, which forced Ladero to retreat. Some tight boxing and a big knee against the cage further stuns Ladero, who covers up in the middle of the SmartCage as Salamone lets the hands fly. Marc Goddard sees enough, and the Frenchman Salamone has the TKO victory in less than half a round.
